Realize that no matter who you are, where you are, or even what you may have done, God loves you unconditionally. He loves you so much that He was willing to give His son for you.
(John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”)
Also realize that everyone is a sinner, is separated from God, and needs salvation from this condition.
(Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” )
And without this salvation, we are forever separated from God.
(Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”)
But God, because of His love for us, gave His Son to pay the price that was needed for our salvation.
(Romans 5:8 “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”)
Jesus was made sin for us, He took our place, so that we could be made righteous, or right, in God’s sight.
(2 Corinthians 5:21 “He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”)
Because of what Jesus did for us, we now can have eternal life with God. God freely gave His Son, and the salvation that comes from this is a free gift to all who will receive it.
You are probably a good, decent, and kind person or you wouldn’t be here reading this. But just being good is not enough, nor is it how you receive this salvation. You receive salvation by calling on the name of the Lord, being forgiven of all your sin, and being made righteous with God’s righteousness by faith. The way this comes is by acknowledging Jesus Christ, that He died and that God raised Him from the dead.
The question is this: Do you know the Lord, have you exercised faith in the lord? Have you called upon his name and been saved?
Rom. 10:9-10 says: That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
You don’t have to be in a church or a church building to accept Jesus Christ, this free gift that I am talking about. Christ and the gift of eternal life are available to all who hear and receive it. So right where you are, no matter where it is, God is there with you.
If you believe that Jesus is the son of God, and you believe that God raised Him from the dead; if you believe that in your heart, and you will confess that with your mouth, God promises you and I that He will save us. He will change you, He will give you a new life, this gift of eternal life will come into your heart. You may be all by yourself, but God sees you, He knows you, and He sees your heart.
If you see your need for Christ, if you see that you have sin in your life and that you are a sinner, that is the beginning – but that is not enough. You also have to see that Jesus Christ paid the price, and that God is giving you this gift absolutely free. I want you to pray a prayer. Basically, it is praying a confession of faith. If you will pray this prayer, I believe with all my heart that God will change you in your heart.
Pray this prayer out loud, and if you mean it with all your heart, God means it with all His heart:
“Lord Jesus I come to you now, and I confess that I am not right with you, but I want to make it right, and to be right. I can’t save myself, I need help. I believe that you are the Son of God. I believe that you died for my sins. I believe that God raised You from the dead. And I confess you now as my Lord, my God, my Savior. Thank you for changing my heart. Thank you for cleansing me, forgiving me of all my sin, and for making me a new person inside. Amen.”
Now if you prayed that, and you meant it with all your heart, God meant it with all His heart and He has changed your heart.
